Despite things looking different this year due to the COVID pandemic, the staff at the Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles (HACLA) were determined to bring holiday joy to the children of its public housing developments. Unable to hold traditional toy drives like those in the past, the children were brought toys directly to their front doors instead! Throughout the month of December, HACLA distributed toys to public housing youths between the ages of 0-12.
Toys were preselected and sorted for the children based on their age groups and dropped off in front of resident homes at a safe distance. While HACLA's toy drive looked different this year, we were happy to still bring a bit of joy to resident youths this holiday season. Thanks again to our partners at LAPD, the Community Safety Partnership (CSP) Program for helping us make this happen!
