Grand Opening of the Watts/Los Angeles WorkSource Center at Imperial Courts

November 19 - The Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles (HACLA) celebrated the grand opening of the Watts/Los Angeles WorkSource Center (WSC) with a Ribbon Cutting ceremony. The Housing Authority’s WorkSource Portal is expanding its services as a result of a $5 million five year grant from the Department of Labor.
As a full-service WorkSource Center, it is one of seventeen (17) centers across the city to be awarded with federal funds. The Watts/Los Angeles WorkSource Center will be operated in partnership with America’s Job Center of California. The center’s function is to assist residents of the City of Los Angeles with vocational training and career management.
The center is expected to serve over 2,600 residents annually. Established as a WorkSource Portal in 1992, the WSC has placed nearly 15,000 residents in sustainable employment opportunities. The HACLA is the only public housing agency in the nation that operates an on-site WorkSource Center.
