Mitch Kamin is a Partner in the law firm of Bird, Marella, Boxer, Wolpert, Nessim, Drooks & Lincenberg, where he represents clients in a wide range of complex commercial and white-collar criminal cases. Prior to joining Bird Marella in October of 2010, Chairperson Kamin served as President & CEO of Bet Tzedek Legal Services, one of the largest and most successful non-profit law firms in the United States. As President & CEO, Chairperson Kamin led a seventy person full-time staff and was responsible for major policy initiatives and overseeing significant litigation, in both trial and appellate courts. He also spearheaded the largest pro bono initiative in U.S. history, garnering multiple national awards including the ABA Pro Bono Publico Award.
Chairperson Kamin previously was a partner in the litigation boutique O’Neill, Lysaght & Sun, and an attorney at the Neighborhood Defender Service of Harlem and the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, both in New York City. He has served as an Adjunct Professor at Loyola Law School, a Skadden Fellow, and on Attorney General Kamala Harris’ Transition Team for Civil Rights Enforcement. He was President of the Board of the Legal Aid Association of California from 2006-2008 and Trustee of the Los Angeles County Bar Association from 2004-2006. The Daily Journal repeatedly has selected him as one of the Top 100 Lawyers in California.
A second-generation native Angeleno, Chairperson Kamin is a graduate of Hamilton High School, U.C. Berkeley and Harvard Law School. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife and three children.
