Section 8 Department Migrates to New Computer System
The Section 8 Department has migrated to a new computer system called Elite. With improved automation we can enhance our business operations and, in turn, better serve our owners. We have established the following processes in the unlikely event a problem should occur with your receiving either a monthly Direct Deposit or a Housing Assistance Payment (HAP) check.
I. Payment has not been received on time:
- If you have not received your Direct Deposit or your HAP check by U.S. Mail by the 8th of the month, please contact your Section 8 advisor immediately. The advisor will research the issue and report back to you within 24 hours with an update or resolution.
- If the advisor does not provide a status update within 24 hours, please contact the advisor's immediate supervisor. The supervisor will assist you in resolving the matter.
II. Need to locate your advisor or the advisor's immediate supervisor for assistance with receiving payment:
If you do not know the name and phone number of the advisor, please refer to any recent written correspondence you have received from the Housing Authority. Most letters and notices reference the advisor's name as well as a three-digit "manager code" that identifies that advisor's case load assignment such as "2BA."
If you are unable to locate the advisor's information from written correspondence and need to contact someone for further assistance, please use the following guideline:
- If the first number of the three-digit manager code is "2," the corresponding Section 8 office is Section 8 East. For further assistance call (213) 252-2514.
- If the first number of the three-digit manager code is "4," the corresponding Section 8 office is Section 8 Valley. For further assistance call (818) 756-1189.
- If the first number of the three-digit manager code is "5," the corresponding Section 8 office is Section 8 South. For further assistance call (213) 252-2568.
- If the first number of the three-digit manager code is "7," the corresponding Section 8 office is Section 8 West. For further assistance call (213) 252-2573.
These phone numbers can also be used to locate the advisor's immediate supervisor. If, after calling one of the numbers listed above, you are still having difficulty locating the advisor or supervisor's information, please call an Ombudsperson.
