A Season of Hope at Mar Vista Gardens 
December 20, 2008 - Hundreds of children received early gifts from Santa Claus on Saturday at the Mar Vista Housing Development.  Congresswoman Maxine Waters, District 11 Councilman Bill Rosendahl, and President and CEO of the Housing Authority, Rudolf C. Montiel, were on hand to help pass out gifts.  The gifts were donated by HACLA, the City Fire Department and private citizens.  The residents of the development have more to celebrate during this season of hope - their mail service was restored thanks to a new mail carrier.  Mail carrier, Quy Co, who also goes by "Charlie", officially started his new route on Saturday. Charlie said he is glad to help out the neighborhood and looks forward to building a strong relationship with the Mar Vista Community.
