 Estrada Courts residents learned the importance of diabetes, heart disease, and living a healthy lifestyle during the annual Cinco de Mayo 2008 Health Fair.
Several health providers participated in the event, including Health-Net. Residents took advantage of the opportunity by walking up to the health booths and picked up informative pamphlets. They asked specific health questions and received complimentary blood sugar tests administered by professional health care specialists.
The annual Estrada Courts celebration brings diversity to all residents living in this community. Mariachi music, carne asada barbeques, free pony rides, and raffles were some of the activities that brought cultural awareness for all ages in a safe environment.
Maria Del Angel, resident and Vice Chair Commissioner of the Housing of the City of Los Angeles (HACLA) and Councilman Jose Huizar's Office made this event possible.
