To prepare for the new academic year HACLA organized the “Back to School Job & Health Fair” in Ramona Gardens Recreation Center on August 20. Representatives from 1-800-Dentist and Alta Med Clinic offered free health and dental check ups for children up to the age of 19. Residents received information about the City of Los Angeles Parks and Recreation Teen Program, services available to them in Wells Fargo bank and job search tips.
The fair attracted many residents who enjoyed the great atmosphere and food. Children received gifts and school supplies.
Councilmember Jose Huizar, HACLA Board Commissioner Maria Del Angel and HACLA President Mr. Montiel participated in the event.
