 The Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles’ (HACLA) Director of Development, Larry Goins, presented plans to redevelop Jordan Downs public housing at the 3rd Annual Society for Marketing Professional Services event at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in downtown Los Angeles.
Mr. Goins laid out the vision for the project with a power-point presentation, sharing HACLA’s Strategic Mission Statement and how the redevelopment plan parallels the agency’s goal to provide affordable housing. Mr. Goins explained the importance of engaging residents and community stakeholders; HACLA is holding routine community meetings to share information and to keep an open channel of communication with residents and community organizations.
The redevelopment plan is supported by Congresswoman Maxine Waters, Democrat of California. The project is also a key component of Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa’s five-year, $5 billion Housing Plan to build 20,000 affordable housing units.
