We Care California Resource Fair

In an effort to assist hundreds of low-income families during this difficult economic time, HACLA took part in the We Care California Resource Fair on April 24, 2009. More than 900 families and individuals filled the All Peoples Christian Center near downtown Los Angeles. The event provided families with a one-stop service center, allowing them to get access to more than 40 organizations and learn about utility bill discounts, financial assistance, counseling services and more. HACLA’s Housing Services and Resident Relations staff were on hand to provide information about public housing sites and eligibility requirements. About two hours into the event, Christina Arreaga said more than 200 people stopped by the HACLA booth to learn about public housing opportunities.
