Kendrick Lamar and Special Guests Perform at 5th Annual TDE Holiday Concert

The Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles (HACLA) in partnership with Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE) kept the tradition alive by hosting 5th Annual Holiday Concert and Toy Drive at Nickerson Gardens public housing development on December 19th in Watts, Los Angeles.

Every year, TDE’s CEO, Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith comes back to the neighborhood that he grew up in and brings artists from his label to perform for the community in hopes to inspire, spread joy and provide gifts for the children. Over 7,000 people attended the concert with free admission for those who brought an unwrapped toy. They also received free Nike x TDE Championship Tour merch. Thousands of toys were collected to be distributed to the children residing in Nickerson Gardens the following day after the concert, as a part of the Annual Toy Giveaway.

“I would like to personally thank Top Dawg and his TDE family for another memorable experience. TDE’s generosity provides hope and happiness for the people who may not have the resources to enjoy events such as these outside of their neighborhoods,” said Douglas Guthrie, President and CEO of HACLA.

This year’s lineup included Pulitzer Prize and multi-award-winning artist Kendrick Lamar, ScHoolBoy Q, Ab-Soul, SiR, Jay Rock, SZA, and Reason, the newest addition to the TDE label.

Last year, Rhianna’s surprise appearance stole the show as she performed alongside Kendrick Lamar. This year, TDE’s surprise guests did not disappoint: industry’s hottest hip-hop stars Rich the Kid and Travis Scott performed their top singles igniting the excitement of the audience. “This is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen,” exclaimed Travis Scott, looking over the sea of thousands of people gathered in front of the stage.

“Thank you TDE for the amazing concert and your support for the community!” said Christina Williams, a resident of Nickerson Gardens. “It is uplifting to see the excitement on the faces of the children and their families.”

As always, TDE promised the audience to come back next year for another unforgettable holiday concert.
