Resident Obligations

When you signed your lease with HACLA, you were given a copy of your Public Housing Rental Agreement.  Please familiarize yourself with this document and keep it in a safe place for reference.  As participants of the Public Housing program, you are responsible for the actions of your family and your guests. You are required to adhere to the conditions of the Rental Agreement including Residential Rules and Residential Housekeeping Standards, these include but are not limited to:

  • Paying amount due for rent and other charges as billed by the due date.
  • Keeping the inside of your unit and outside area clean, well maintained and free from hazards.
  • You are not permitted to sublease or transfer possession of your apartment.
  • You are not permitted to use your apartment for any purpose other than as a residential dwelling without prior approval by the management office.
  • Boarders or lodgers are not permitted.
  • No parking on grass or other areas not intended for parking.
  • Adherence to the requirements of your annual reviews.
  • Do not tamper with the smoke detectors in your apartment and do not keep flammable materials such as gasoline and motor oil in or near the unit. For fire safety tips, please refer to the Resident Handbook.
  • You are prohibited from playing with fire, fireworks or firecrackers on the Housing Development.

Please remember to be considerate of your neighbors and be mindful of the following house rules:

  • The volume of radios, televisions, and stereos are to be kept at a level that is not reasonably objectionable to your neighbors so they can rest and relax in their apartments.
  • No music, large gatherings, outdoor parties, or noise allowed between the hours of 10 p.m. and 7 a.m.
  • Dispose trash in designated containers provided for trash pick-up.  Do not leave trash in the surrounding area as that can attract insets and rodents.
  • Do not dump personal furniture or appliance at trash collection stations.  If you no longer have the need for those items, consider donating them to charitable organizations. If they are no longer salvageable, please submit a Work Order by completing the request in RentCafe or call our Customer Call Center (833-422-5248). Our Maintenance team will pick up the item outside your apartment without charge.

If you have questions regarding the terms of your occupancy, please refer to the Rental Agreement below or contact your management office.
