A supporter of Koreatown Immigrant Workers Alliance (KIWA) since she moved to Los Angeles in 2002, Alexandra Suh became executive director in 2011. Suh is co-President of the California Coalition for Worker Power. She also serves on the executive board of the National Immigration Law Center (NILC) and on the City of Los Angeles Workforce Development Board.

Suh has over twenty-five years’ experience in social and economic justice work and holds a Ph.D. from Columbia University. She is a 2021 Durfee Sabbatical awardee. In 2014, California Assembly Speaker John A. Pérez honored her as 53rd Assembly District Woman of the Year. Suh was one of LA Weekly’s People 2014 and is a recipient of Liberty Hill’s Changemaker Award. Suh previously served on the executive board of the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor (LA Fed). She lives in Koreatown with her partner and two children.

Commissioner Suh was appointed to the Board on May 3, 2023.
