On Wednesday, February 21st, HACLA joined Mayor Karen Bass, Senator Alex Padilla, Rep Ted Lieu, Business Consumer Services and Housing (BCSH) Deputy Secretary for Homelessness Dhakshike Wickrema, California State Association of Counties (CSAC) Executive Committee member Luis Alejo, and local housing leaders at one of HACLA's Project Homekey sites to shed light on innovative housing solutions and show support for the Housing for All Act as a means to address the homelessness and housing crises in California. The Housing for All Act would invest in proven solutions and provide a surge of federal funding both for strategic, existing programs to keep people housed and reduce homelessness. The bill will also invest in innovative, locally-developed solutions to help vulnerable populations experiencing homelessness.
