Joined by Councilwoman Monica Rodriguez and The People Concern, HACLA welcomed residents to their new homes at Hillhaven Terrace on Thursday, January 19th. Hillhaven Terrace was newly constructed in 2022 as a 3-story 34-unit multi-family building. The Homekey site houses individuals who are homeless or at-risk of homelessness, who are matched using the Coordinated Entry System (CES).

On Wednesday, January 11th, HACLA held a press event to announce free high-speed internet for residents at Estrada Courts. The press event was held in partnership with i.am angel Foundation and WeLink and was also joined by LAUSD, the City of LA, Microsoft, and Estrada Courts residents. Reliable internet is not a luxury, but a necessity. We are one step closer to closing the digital divide.

The City’s 2023-2028 Assessment of Fair Housing (AFH) will examine whether everyone has similar choices for housing regardless of protected class.

LA Public Libraries are also available for additional information if you need assistance filling out the online application. Enrollment begins October 17- October 30.

On September 27, HACLA joined Wakeland Housing and Development Corporation as they officially open The Chesterfield, located at 4723 S. Normandie Avenue in South Los Angeles. The Chesterfield is a new supportive housing community for formerly homeless seniors in Los Angeles. HACLA is providing 42 Project Based Vouchers for this property.
