On Thursday, December 8, 2022, the Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles (HACLA) joined Mayor Eric Garcetti, Councilmember Mike Bonin and Thomas Safran & Associates (TSA) to celebrate the groundbreaking of Thatcher Yard in Marina del Rey.

The Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles (HACLA) for the first time in 5 years has opened its Waiting List lottery. Angelenos can apply online to receive rental assistance. LA Public Libraries are also available for additional information if you need assistance filling out the online application. Enrollment begins October 17- October 30.

September 2022 - Over the course of two days in September, residents of Ramona Gardens, Estrada Courts, Jordan Downs and Nickerson Gardens public housing communities participated in “Safety On Site” training sessions offered by HD Supply. More than thirty residents participated in 3-hour workshops, conducted in English and Spanish to accommodate residents with language barriers.

On September 27, HACLA joined Wakeland Housing and Development Corporation as they officially open The Chesterfield, located at 4723 S. Normandie Avenue in South Los Angeles. The Chesterfield is a new supportive housing community for formerly homeless seniors in Los Angeles. HACLA is providing 42 Project Based Vouchers for this property.

On August 29, Rep Jimmy Gomez presented a check for $650,000 to Southern California College Access Network (SoCal CAN) for Project SOAR.
Project SOAR provides free college and career advising to our residents and is currently at Ramona Gardens, William Mead Homes, Nickerson Gardens, and Avalon Gardens.
