On September 28th, HACLA joined the groundbreaking ceremony of Weingart Tower, a 278-unit, 19-story permanent supportive housing high-rise in the Skid Row district of downtown Los Angeles. The ceremony featured speakers such as Mayor Eric Garcetti, CA District 53 Assembly member Miguel Santiago, and others.
On September 13th, Congressman David Price, who represents North Carolina's Fourth District, toured Jordan Downs and learned more about how the Choice Neighborhood Initiative funding is being utilized in Watts.
