Each year in October for Breast Cancer Awareness month, HACLA employees choose a day where everyone is encouraged to wear pink. Implemented years ago by HACLA employees, the HACLA "Pink Out" has served as a way to remember those who have lost the battle with breast cancer, support and encourage those still in the fight, and honor survivors who have overcome.

On October 12, 2023, the Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles (HACLA) joined Domus Development and LA Family Housing for the grand opening celebration of Talisa Apartments. Located at 9502 Van Nuys Boulevard in Los Angeles, Talisa Apartments is a 49-unit permanent supportive housing development serving homeless and chronically homeless families in the City of Los Angeles.

On October 2, 2023, the Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles (HACLA) attended the Grand Opening of Sun Commons. Located at 6329 Clybourn Street in North Hollywood, the ribbon cutting ceremony was attended by Developers Abbey Road and Link Housing. Of the 103 units in the building, 51 of the units are Project-Based Voucher units subsidized by HACLA's PBV program.

On August 7, 2023, the Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles (HACLA) joined Century Affordable Development, Inc. to celebrate the ground breaking ceremony for Villa Vanowen. Located in Council District 2 of Los Angeles, Villa Vanowen will provide affordable housing for a target population of chronically homeless individuals.

On August 3, 2023, the Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles (HACLA) joined the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), local leaders and Related California (Related), to celebrate the grand reopening and 20th anniversary of Pueblo del Sol, a community of 376 100% affordable apartments located in the Boyle Heights neighborhood.
