On December 4th, California State Parks announced that HACLA was one of 16 finalists for the Land & Water Conservation Funding. As the only project awarded in the City of Los Angeles, the funding of $1,450,000 will go towards HACLA's Children's Park Development Project at Jordan Downs.

Each year in October for Breast Cancer Awareness month, HACLA employees choose a day where everyone is encouraged to wear pink. Implemented years ago by HACLA employees, the HACLA "Pink Out" has served as a way to remember those who have lost the battle with breast cancer, support and encourage those still in the fight, and honor survivors who have overcome.
